Idol Worship in 2004
Oct 25, 2004

It is hard for Americans to believe that people living in the bush still worship idols. I would not have believed it had I not seen it with my own eyes.

This is a practice that is ugly in God's eyes but is also ugly in our eyes. It must be overcome by the good of the Gospel. Here is why....

A fetish priest orchestrates his temple much like organized crime in America. There is nothing cute or friendly about it. The fetish priest does no legitimate work. He only captures women to become his worshippers (spelled sex slave) and terrorizes the entire village with his dark powers.

They build physical idols and even shrines and houses for them to live in. Some gods live outside and get rained on. One way a god is worshipped is by pouring offerings of drinks on it.

The worshippers mark their faces with permanent tattoos or cuttings.

The women slaves are required to walk around without shirts and shoes. They are required to serve the priest by cooking for him, going into town and getting food, going to their relatives and demanding money so they can buy food for the priest. This is all under the threat of making the gods angry.

People believe the god must be appeased by taking one of their girl children to the priest. If/when that girl dies they must replace her with another. Thus, generational slavery. Through this process the fetish priest is able to terrorize and control the entire town.

The above photo is a shrine forest where the gods are, and where young children mostly girls are enslaved to be initiated  into serving these gods for life!

There are darker things that happen too. In fact, there are murders and human sacrifices that happen.

This corrupt and evil system of traditional worship must be exposed. To that end, we will use technology to do so. Expect a website on this in the near future.

By taking the gospel to the slave women, they can become freed. They require immediate housing and food as their families reject them out of fear. After a few of these women are freed, the fetish priest becomes angry and tries to attack the Christian gospel witnesses. This is when the Lord our God demonstrates the true power of love. We must overcome evil with good.

After such an event, it is possible to convert a fetish priest when they see that their powers are no good against God. The primary strategy is to convert the fetish priest since he is the root of the problems and evil.
These are the people we reach for Christ, come over & share in this! Remember together we change lives !!
